Your landlord has until Monday, December 14, 2026 to return your deposit or send an itemized statement of anything kept. Miss that date, and New York law says they lose the right to keep any of it (GOL §7-108(1-a)(e)).
Gave at least two weeks’ notice? You can ask for an inspection between Monday, November 16 and Monday, November 23. Your landlord owes you 48 hours’ written notice and a list of anything they plan to deduct, and you get the chance to fix it before you go.
